Privacy policy

Soar Shield is a Shopify app made by Soar Studio. It blocks unwanted orders at checkout, such as orders with free items or below a minimum amount. This page explains what data the app uses and what it stores. In short: Soar Shield does not store any of your customers' personal data.

Data the app stores

• Your store's address and access token. When you install Soar Shield, Shopify gives the app your store's myshopify.com address and an access token, so the app can show its settings page and save your settings. We keep these in our database while the app is installed.
• Your settings. Whether protection is on, your minimum order amount and whether items priced at 0 are blocked. These are saved inside your Shopify store, on the app's checkout rule, not in our database.

Data the app reads but doesn't store

• The cart at checkout. Item prices, discounts and whether a product is tagged as a free gift. The check runs on Shopify's own servers, so this data is never sent to us.
• Product tags. The settings page counts how many products are tagged soar-free-gift. The count isn't saved.

Customer data

Soar Shield doesn't collect or store names, email addresses, phone numbers, addresses or payment details of your customers. When Shopify asks the app for a customer's data, or asks it to delete that data, there's nothing to send or delete.

How long we keep data

When you uninstall Soar Shield, your store's access token is deleted right away. Shopify also sends a request 48 hours after uninstall to delete all of your store's data, and the app removes anything that's left.

Sharing

We don't sell or share your data. It's only processed by Shopify and by the hosting provider that runs the app, to keep the app working.

Your rights

You can ask us what data we hold about your store, or ask us to delete it, at any time. If you or your customers are in the European Economic Area, the UK or California, you have rights under laws such as the GDPR and CCPA, and we'll help you use them.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
